Community Spotlight: Committed Community Support Award Recipients
Tony Strickland: A Legacy of Love and Loyalty at Pine Forest
For more than a decade, Tony Strickland has exemplified what it means to be a devoted community partner. A proud graduate of Pine Forest High School, Tony’s roots run deep - his daughter and son-in-law are also alumni and he grew up less than a mile from the school. But it was the heartbreaking loss of his son, Scott, in a middle school ATV accident that became the driving force behind his remarkable legacy.
Determined to turn grief into purpose, Mr. Strickland donated his time, talents and resources to create something lasting in Scott’s memory. He built the Pine Forest Soccer fieldhouse and stadium - now a thriving complex named in honor of his son. Yet his support didn’t stop with construction. Tony continues to help maintain the facilities, ensuring they remain a source of pride for the school and community.
Over the years, Mr. Strickland has given generously to other sports programs at Pine Forest, both through financial contributions and countless volunteer hours. His steadfast dedication has made an immeasurable impact on student-athletes and the entire school community.
Tony Strickland reminds us that community partnership often comes from a place of deep love - and that giving back can create a legacy that touches generations.
